Sungai Pinang Kita (2012 - 2014)
Sungai Pinang Kita is a community-based arts programme set in a public housing apartment block in Penang. It engages various groups of young residents aged 10-17. The programme uses the arts to build awareness of the issues apparent in their living environment, and to facilitate exploring solutions towards improving live-ability in their 21 story apartment block. Outputs for this programme include photo documentation and mapping, advocacy video, skills in recycling and upcycling and movement pieces. The creative outputs give an opportunity for participants to reflect what they have learnt and for the adult community to discern the young people’s perspectives on the issue.
